Carnevale displayed versatility and a strong work ethic all season long as he not only served as the Sunday starter, but also started mid-week games on several occasions and tossed from the bullpen in Friday or Saturday games for Pacific. Hunter logged 67.1 innings of work in 2009 for the second most among all pitchers on the Tiger staff and also finished second on the team with 43 strikeouts. He closed out the year with two wins over 11 starts in 19 appearances. Carnevale's first win of the year was also his longest outing in the March 15, 10-2 victory over Houston. Hunter went seven innings deep into the game and did not allow any earned runs while striking out six, marking his season-high number of strikeouts in a single game. Against No. 1 UC Irvine on May 10, Hunter dazzled on the mound, shutting out the Anteaters over 6.2 innings of work to close out the game, as the Tigers trailed by one heading into the bottom of the ninth, 6-5. His second victory of the year was also another seven-inning performance as he limited UC Santa Barbara to two runs in Pacific's 13-3 victory over the Gauchos on April 5.<b>2008 (Sophomore):</b><br>Carnevale's 38.2 innings pitched landed him in the top five for Pacific pitchers during his second year with the team. After starting off his first game of the year with a 4-3 win over Houston on Feb. 23, Hunter earned a starting role in three of his next four games. Against the Cougars, he tossed four innings of scoreless relief with one strikeout and surrendered only two hits. His second victory of the season was a five inning, one-hitter versus Cal State Northridge on May 16, when the Tigers clobbered the ball and gave Carnevale tremendous run support to win a game in which he did not allow any earned runs, 17-5. Opposing batters hit .287 against Hunter, accounting for the second lowest average against for Pacific pitchers. He finished the season with a 2-4 record.<b>2007 (Freshman):</b><br>Hunter came on in relief for the Tigers in the first game of the 2007 season, but quickly cemented his role in the starting rotation. Carnevale made 18 appearances during his freshman campaign, including 14 starts. Hunter tossed 76.2 innings, compiling a 2-5 record and a 5.99 ERA. In Hunter's first start he held Cal State Northridge scoreless through six innings to pick up his first collegiate victory in Pacific's 12-0 win over the Matadors on Feb. 4. Two starts later, Hunter limited the Nevada Wolf Pack to one run on seven hits in 6.2 innings for his second victory. Carnevale finished the season with 38 strikeouts and 31 walks in 76.2 innings.<b>High School:</b><br>Hunter graduated from Granite Bay High School in Granite Bay, Calif., in 2006. Carnevale was a two-year letterwinner in baseball for the Grizzlies and also earned a varsity letter in soccer. During his senior season, Hunter finished with a 7-3 record, a 1.70 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 50 innings. Following the 2006 season, Hunter was named to the All-Metropolitan League First Team. As a junior, Carnevale served as the Grizzlies' closer, recording eight saves, 22 K's and a perfect 0.00 ERA in 12.2 innings.<b>Personal:</b><br>Hunter Carnevale is the son of Chris Carnevale and Mary Howell. He has two siblings, Jack (16) and Sammie (2). For fun, Hunter enjoys golf, working out and skiing. In his fourth year at Pacific, Hunter is a business administration major.
